Robot Chicken - Season 5

Christian Cintron READ TIME: 2 MIN.

"Robot Chicken: Season Five" is truly a geek's paradise. The popular stop animation show features some of your favorite characters from pop culture, comic books and cartoons. They're voiced by major A-list celebrities and often end up in rather scandalous situations. This season is a treasure trove of hilarity and definitely a must-see.

The DVD features the 100th episode of the series. There is an appearance by Elijah Wood as Frodo having an interesting relationship with Gollum. "Battlestar Gallactica" star Katee Sackhoff plays Bitch Puddin' a fictional character from the "Strawberry Shortcake" universe. Season Five also features appearances by Megan Fox, Jon Hamm, Michelle Trachtenberg, Mila Kunis and Brian Austin Green.

The DVD features some deleted skits and animatics. Some are scenes that were shot and others are storyboards of sketches that are too much for TV. There is commentary on every episode of the series with the creators and some of the stars. There are also some "Chicken Nuggets" which are commentary on special moments of the episode. They are available throughout the episode if you want to hear additional creator commentary.

The DVD also features featurettes that offer some insight into the series. They include celebrity interviews, behind-the-scenes of the 100th episode and some interesting stories like how Jon Hamm ended up on the show. There also is a featurette about the original song, "Blue Rabbits," a sing-a-long, and a download from the DVD. There is a comedy video featuring some of the creators called "Taco Libre." Finally, all the promos of the series are available on this DVD.

"Robot Chicken: Season Five" is not only an amazing series but it is a must-have for comedy lovers, comic book geeks and pop culture aficionados. The series pokes fun at popular characters, creates outrageous skits and lets you laugh at grossly inappropriate adult humor.
