Buff NYC Teacher Fired For Using School Email to Hook Up

A New York City elementary school teacher was fired on Tuesday after a fellow teacher caught him using his school email to send out half-naked photos of himself in response to Craigslist hookup ads, the New York Post reports.

Matthew Maleski, 32, who was a special-ed teacher at Public School 183 on Manhattan's Upper East Side for more than a year, was let go after it was discovered he was responding to Craigslist ads for potential hookups with his work email account. One of Maleski's coworkers said she saw him sending "scandalous" pictures of himself, wearing nothing but his underwear, as they both had access to the Gmail account for a class they taught together.

The New York Daily News points out that a report from the New York Board of Education's special schools investigator, Richard Condon, says that the teacher informed the school's principal Tara Napoleoni in November 2012 that she "discovered a number of inappropriate emails" in the email account she shared with Maleski, who admits to sending the emails. Maleski also said he didn't mean to send the emails via the work account, but did so during non-work hours on his cell phone, which was linked to the work email, the Post notes.

Nevertheless, on Jan. 14, investigators said that Maleski had "committed employee misconduct by sending inappropriate email communications from an email address that represents a DOE [Department of Education] site."

Sources also report the hunky teacher isn't shy about showing off his body as he appears in a YouTube video called "I Just Wanna F*uckin' Dance!" where he grinds to dance music without a shirt. The video is apparently a promo for a dance party in San Francisco last year.

"In the promotional video for what appears to be a wild DJ party held last February, the two-minute clip shows dozens of men stripped down to their skivvies, washing cars and grinding on stage," the Daily News writes.

The article also points out Maleski started working for the Education Department in 2011 and made $56,048 a year.

In a similar incident, Kevin Hogan, a Massachusetts English teacher and crew coach was put on leave in November 2011 after officials from the prestigious Mystic Valley Regional Charter School discovered that he started in gay porn, such as "Fetish World" and "Just Gone Gay 8." Hogan, who was the chair of the school's English department, was subjected to a school investigation and a criminal check. The school's officials did say, however, that they received flawless references when he was hired.

In another case, former gay porn star Shawn Loftis, better known as Colin O'Neil, was initially fired in 2011 from a Florida middle school for his porn past but was reinstated in March 2012. Loftis, however, will have to stay on probation for two years.
