What's HOT South Florida (10/31 - 11/02)
Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 5 MIN.
This week was bookended with pageants. It started on Monday with the Amy Rivers' Miss South Beach pageant, which was held at the Catskills Comedy Club in Fort Lauderdale. Congratulations to the new Miss South Beach, Nikki Wyte.
On Tuesday night my good buddy Diego celebrated his birthday at Boom. I couldn't resist putting a tiara and birthday hat on his head (see pic). Thursday was the much anticipated CVB Marketing Luncheon which had over 500 people in attendance. It was held at the Broward Convention Center. Nikki Grossman and her team gave a wonderful presentation on what's ahead for Greater Fort Lauderdale and I, for one, am excited. That night was the VIP opening on The Drive, which featured hors d'oeuvres, an open bar for two hours, and some very sexy bartenders. Needless to say everyone was happy.
On Friday, The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills presented Tour de Fashion starring George Kotsiopoulos (Hotspots' cover model two weeks ago) of Fashion Police. There was a great fashion show (although many mini fashion shows were happening all day long) featuring some of the hottest brands including Versace, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Ermenegildo Zegna and many more. Afterwards there was a VIP luncheon which Michael Goodman of the firm Bitner and Goodman invited me to (shout out and a thank you to Michael). In addition to all this, there was a fantastic gift bag (everyone knows I am a gift bag whore).
On Saturday SAVE Dade presented their annual Halloween party, this year entitled Armageddon, at the Miami Convention Center, which starred DJ Tracy Young as well as DJs FR8-O and Bill James along with South Beach diva Tiffany Fantasia. On Sunday, Mizz Cori, Deadpaint.com and Bill's Filling Station presented the first annual Miss Hallows Eve Pageant. The night featured many famous judges and performances including Detox and Latrice Royale from RuPaul's Drag Race. There were five good contestants and in the end the winner of every category and the first ever Miss Hallows Eve is none other than Miss T.P. Lords. Congrats to T.P. and Mizz Cori for a fabulous pageant!
