President Palin?: Former Gov Hints at 2016 GOP Bid
EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Is there room for one more in the GOP presidential hopeful clown car?
Half-term governor turned failed 2008 vice presidential candidate turned Tea Party darling turned Fox News personality turned reality show star Sarah Palin dropped hints that she may have her eye on the Oval Office for 2016.
In an Extra interview with Palin at the Seal-Navy Special Warfare Family Foundation this past weekend, the former Alaska governor toyed with the press about a potential 2016 bid.
"Well, we'll just see what happens," she told Extra.
Admitting a run would be "a huge commitment with the family, with time, with resources," Palin took a jab at Democratic front-runner former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
"I think every single one so far, plus more, will be able to give Hillary a run for their money," she said, referencing the Republican presidential hopefuls who have already announced candidacy.
"Don't be surprised if you see... a few more names offer themselves up in the name of service," she added.
If Palin announces her candidacy, she will be running against Senators Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz as well as retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who have all officially kicked off their campaigns. Other Republicans expected to announce candidacy include: Senator Lindsey Graham, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
In September 2014, it was reported Palin was quoted with giving the wrong address of the White House.
"Those truly prejudice folks, they scream racism just to end the debate," she said. "Don't retreat! You reload with truth, which I know is an endangered species at 1400 Pennsylvania Avenue anyway. The media's favorite president he just can't stop telling lies!"
If she wins in 2016, let's hope she'll be able to find her way home. Or not.
