Duggars Gone from TV? Hell No: Jessa & Jill in Talks for Spin-Off

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Think the Duggars are gone from TV? Guess again.

Following the controversy surrounding the Josh Duggar molestation scandal that prompted sponsors Walgreens, Payless and General Mills to pull their ads from the once high-rated reality show "19 Kids and Counting," Us Weekly is reporting that a spin-off may be in the works for sisters Jill and Jessa.

Sources tell Us Weekly that although TLC and their parent company Discovery Networks have yet to announce cancellation plans for "19 Kids and Counting," they're actively exploring a spin-off that won't involve brother Josh -- or 16 of their other Duggar sibling and the parents for that matter.

"They've invested a lot of time in developing these story lines and the last thing they want to do is to throw it all away," an insider told Us. Jill and Jessa Duggar and their respective spouses, who allegedly will be the focus of a Duggar spin-off have both had their weddings and pregnancies chronicled on "19 Kids and Counting." Both have huge followings on social media.

Brother Josh reportedly will not be a part of any future filming.

Duggar fans who think a potential spin-off would present a kinder and gentler face of the conservative Christian family can also guess again.

As reported by ' target='_blank'>EDGE in February, Jessa Duggar made headlines over a Facebook diatribe she posted defending her right to judge anyone with an interpretation of the Bible that differs from hers.

"One of the most quoted verses from the Bible is Matthew 7:1 'Judge not!' Whenever someone speaks out against something that God calls sin, 'Don't judge!' can be heard coming from a thousand lips." Jessa said in the post. "People don't like to have other people disapprove of the way they're choosing to live their life."

Jessa's husband Ben Seewald also drew fire for Facebook comments he made in 2014 where he criticized Catholics for their deadly errors, Radar Online reported.

"I DO have a problem with the teaching that man can come to God through Mary or any other person besides Jesus..." Seewald wrote of Catholics. "I DO have a problem with the deification of Mary as a sinless being. Mary herself admitted her need for a Savior. If she had no sin, she would need no Savior."

On May 22, TLC announced "19 Kids and Counting" would be pulled from the air until further notice. "We are deeply saddened and troubled by this heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family and victims at this difficult time," the network said in a statement.
