Cynthia Nixon Honorary Chair For Trinity Place Shelter Fundraiser

On June 1, Cynthia Nixon will host the 10th Anniversary Fundraiser for the Trinity Place Shelter for homeless LGBTQ youth. Host Bianca Del Rio, a longtime supporter of the shelter, has contributed time again to assist in raising funds and awareness. �The event will be held at Stage 48, on New York City's west side.

"All of us are adults, though we may struggle with discrimination of one kind or another and we may get angry about our rights being denied to us," said Cynthia Nixon. "We really have a cake walk compare with the young people who come through the doors of Trinity."

Trinity Place Shelter is a non-sectarian, 10-bed transitional shelter that is open all year to provide LGBTQ youth/ young adults with a safe place to sleep, eat, store belongings, have access to transportation, individual / group counseling, and additional independent living supportive services. They are celebrating their ten-year anniversary with the largest event the shelter has produced.�With celebrities, performers, non-profit partners and local sponsors, we are excited to announce the evenings lineup.

The event will be hosted by Bianca Del Rio with Cynthia Nixon serving as an Honorary Co-Chair.�Special performances by Bob The Drag Queen, Broadway's Christine Dwyer, Joey Taranto, Carrie Manolakos and more!

"You are put out on the street and then who takes you in?" said Nixon. "A church -- having a bed and having a social worker and getting a Metrocard and getting money to do your laundry and having people who can help you find permanent housing, get an education, get a job... to have a church say, 'Wrong was done to you, You are a good person and we want to help you,' this is a tremendous, tremendous gift."

DJ Randy Bettis will be our special DJ of the evening.� Randy Bettis, a DJ and Producer, is among the most sought after mixmasters in the dance-music industry, and was recently voted DJ of the Year by Just Circuit subscribers.�

The event features special appearances by Fred Schneider of The B-52's, Miss Industry Tina Burner, Hedda Lettuce, and Lady Bunny. Also attending are Broadway Stars Christine Dwyer, Joey Taranto, and Carrie Manolakos.
