AURA Multimedia Installation Opens in Montreal
EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Prepare for take off! As part of Montreal's 375th anniversary, the multimedia installation AURA will launch at the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montral on March 21.
Designed by the renowned Moment Factory team, Notre-Dame Basilica -- the 188-year-old institution -- dives right into the 21st century digital multimedia era with its luminous, musical experience composed by Marc Bell and Gabriel Thibaudeau for TroubleMakers.
The project's mission is to shed new light on the history and architecture of the Basilica as well as on the art that can be found within its walls. The experience begins with a path of lights, revealing the Basilica's wealth of exquisite works. A progressive immersion into a sonically and visually captivating universe guides visitors to the heart of Notre-Dame. The combination of light, orchestral music and grandiose architecture creates a unique, three-act multimedia spectacle.
The 60-minute show is divided in two parts; visitors can expect a thematic tour followed by a multimedia experience. AURA is expected to run for at least a year, with a spring schedule as follows:
Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday evenings: 6 p.m.
Friday evenings: 6 p.m., 8 p.m.
Saturday evenings: 7 p.m., 9 p.m.
