Inside Amy Schumer - Season 4
Karin McKie READ TIME: 2 MIN.
The Emmy nominee returns with nine irreverent new episodes in "Inside Amy Schumer Season 4," originally aired between April and June, 2016, and released on a two-DVD set as her movie "Snatched" hits the big screen.
Among quick conversations with fellow comedians throughout, the series starts with "The World's Most Interesting Woman in the World" beer commercial parody, and features an ill-conceived historical rap for guest star Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Liam Neeson appears in "Welcome to the Gun Show" and Amy tries to make her mark of "Game of Thrones" with David Spade.
"Brave" brings her an Oscar, and "Madame President" puts her on the rag in the Oval Office (orifice?).
"Madonna/Whore" takes her and regular opener/collaborator Bridget Everett on an ill fated "Sex and the City" bus tour. Amy floats high above the plebeians in her "Fame" episode, scored by Selena Gomez.
She continues her "Amy Goes Deep" real life interviews in "Psychopath Test," talking to the mentally ill as well as a scientist, an episode where she also spoofs sitcoms, telecomm commercials and impending motherhood. Mothering themes continue in "Everyone for Themselves," for asshole human babies in addition to lizards.
Andy Cohen hosts a "Real Housewives" wrap-up parody in "Rubbing Our Clips," which is similar to the few extras focusing on the writers in the writing room. Short gag scenes usually make an appearance before each episode's ending credits.
Even though written and performed last year, Amy's still-topical feminism shows up in the segment "Dr. Congress," where white males in the House Committee of Women's Health tell her what to do with her body, as does her hatred of the paparazzi in the anti-TMZ "AMZ."
