'She The People' Brings Female Comedians to Second City

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

On October 20, head to Second City in Chicago when a retinue of the city's most talented comedians present "She The People," a comedy show running weekends through November 12.

We'll bet you 72 cents on the dollar you'll fall head over patriarchal heels for the women of Second City as they nevertheless persist in this mimosa-and-madness-fueled feminist foray that takes on everything from having it all to having that sick feeling your government is trying to send your sex back to the Middle Ages. It's time for women across the nation to collectively reclaim comedy!
The R-rated show is 90 minutes with a brief intermission, for a limited seven-week run.

Director Carly Heffernan manages a cast featuring Alex Bellisle, Carisa Barreca, Katie Caussin, Maria Randazzo, Rashawn Scott and Kimberly Michelle Vaughn.

Alex Bellisle is thrilled to be a part of No Selfie Control and has had a blast in the House Ensemble Program. Alex is a Chicago based comedian and actress and has performed at iO Chicago, Comedy Sportz, and aboard the Norwegian Pearl with The Second City. A native Texan, Alex enjoys swimming, riding her bike, and hanging out with her dog, Doug. Alex would like to thank The Second City Training Center, Chicago's wonderful comedy community, the cast, her great friends, and her loving family.

Carisa Barreca is an Alumni of The Second City's Resident e.t.c. Stage. She wrote and performed in three consecutive critically acclaimed revues, "Soul Brother, Where Art Thou,""Clown Car Named Desire" and "Apes Of Wrath."

KatieCaussinis originally from Springfield, VA and received her degree in Theater from Radford University. She has been an actor in Chicago for over 20 years... many of them with The Second City as part of their National Touring Company and their Theatricals shows. Most recently she appeared as Mrs. Cratchit in"Twist Your Dickens"at the Goodman Theater.

Kimberly Michelle Vaughn graduated from Columbia College of Chicago with her BA in Theatre. A recent alum of The Second City Touring Company (RedCo), she is currently acting in short films and television shows. Catch her this fall in an episode of Pop TV's "Hot Date."

Maria Randazzois an alumnus of The Second City Touring Company (Mighty Mighty BlueCo), has understudied on Second City's resident stages and performed with Second City Theatricals aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines. She improvises with iO Harold team Sears Tower, Baby Wants Candy and "Shamilton! The Improvised Musical." Maria is a Cleveland native and a graduate of Loyola University Chicago.

Rashawn Nadine Scottis honored to be joining the Second City's Mainstage. She was previously in the e.t.c's 39th revue "Soul Brother, Where Art Thou?" Rashawn was a recipient of the inaugural Bob Curry Fellowship, performed in the Second City + Hubbard Street show, "The Art of Falling," and understudied for the SC Touring Company. Rashawn grew up in Tacoma, WA and attended Western Washington University.

Carly Heffernanis pretty jazzed to be directing the Second City Toronto's 78th Revue. She is an award-winning alumna of the Second City Toronto where she wrote and performed in four revues. She co-wrote and performed in the hit theatrical, "The Second City Guide to the Symphony" at Roy Thomson Hall. Carly has also written for "Second Jen" (CityTV), "Air Farce NYE" (CBC), "Almost Genius" (CMT), "George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight" (CBC) and "The Irrelevant Show" (CBC Radio).
