Gay Character on Disney Channel Has One Million Moms Feuding with The Mouse Again

When a gay teen character on the Disney Channel's series "Andi Mack" comes out to his friends, the media bullies at One Million Moms come out swinging.
On Thursday, Monica Cole, head of the hate group media watchdog group One Million Moms, rekindled her group's long-standing feud with the Disney Channel over the inclusion of the first gay character to appear on the cable family network.
In an action alert sent out by One Million Moms on Thursday, Cole is asking the group's 90,716 followers to sing a "Disney Pledge" stating that they "will not support Diensy unless they produce family-friendly entertainment."
Cole writes:
In a first for the Disney Channel, the show "Andi Mack" will spend an hour focusing on one of the main characters coming out as gay. Young teen Cyrus Goodman is a key member in the program's cast. During the season two premiere, he'll make Disney Channel history as he grapples with his feelings for another boy. And in subsequent episodes, he'll work these feelings out along with having a new girlfriend.
In advance of Friday night's airing of the episode, Disney execs released a statement saying: "The Disney brand has always been inclusive, with stories that reflect acceptance and tolerance and celebrate the differences that make our characters uniquely wonderful in their own way."
However, for Cole (whose group is an off-shoot of the anti-LGBTQ hate group American Family Association), inclusion has never really been her thing. She warned the family entertainment behemoth, "By choosing to abandon family-friendly entertainment, Disney's inexplicable choice to move toward more 'adult' fare may ultimately prove to be a huge mistake."
As for "the mouse," Disney has never paid much attention to any of One Million Moms' boycotts, tantrums or warnings. In the past, Cole and her harem of harridans have pitched fruitless fits over numerous Disney and Disney Channel properties that have included "action alerts" against the animated series "Doc McStuffins," the live action "Beauty and the Beast," "Good Luck Charlie," ABC's "The Muppets," ABC's "The Real O'Neals," ABC Family's "The Fosters," and Walt Disney World theme park in Orlando.
