Was Cynthia Nixon Tone-Deaf in Tweet Criticizing CVS for Locking Up Essential Items?

Former New York gubernatorial candidate and "And Just Like That..." and "Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon criticized CVS in a tweet for locking up numerous products, including what are considered essential items.

She wrote the tweet after noticing how "her local CVS in SoHo had 'started' locking up 'basic items like clothing detergent,'" reported the Daily Mail.

"As so many families can't make ends meet right now, I can't imagine thinking that the way to solve the problem of people stealing basic necessities out of desperation is to prosecute them," Nixon tweeted.

She was immediately slammed on social media with some pointing out that CVS, along with Walgreen's, has been locking up these items for some time.

"Her comment about CVS on Thursday came as Governor Andrew Cuomo warned of the escalating crime rate in New York City, which has become so high he said New Yorkers no longer feel safe," added the DM.
